Is Zena Organic Supergreens certified organic?
Yes, as a finished product — and so is Daily Greens and Adaptogens, at 98.25% organic by weight against a 95% requirement, seal on the jar. Zena does not publish which certifier issued its own. The seal describes how the plants were grown and handled. It says nothing about how much of any one of them is in the tub, and that is what the panel is for.
Two blend totals, and nothing under them to check
Zena’s panel prints two numbers: an Organic Greens, Fruits, Vegetables and Herbs Blend at 4,619 mg, and an Organic Fiber, Prebiotic, Probiotic and Digestive Enzyme Blend at 2,411 mg. That is it for weights. Nested inside the first are five further named sub-blends — Organic Hydration, Organic Berry Antioxidant, Organic Protein, Organic Sea Veggie, Organic Super Mushroom — with no weights of their own. Blends inside a blend, and a number for neither layer.
The greens blend opens with organic spirulina and then organic spinach, so spirulina is the largest item in it and the label will not say by how much. The fiber blend — over a third of the printed weight — opens with organic gum acacia and organic ground rice hulls. Those are the two biggest things in that 2,411 mg, and neither is a green.

All four of Zena’s grasses are printed as “(Leaf and Stem) Powder.” Ours are juice powders: the grass is pressed, the indigestible fibre is left behind, and what is dried is the juice. That is why ours can carry 1,620 mg each of barley grass juice, wheat grass juice and alfalfa juice, dried below 106°F, and print the numbers.
